GYOTAKU PICTURE – Japanese painting based on fish rubbing (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – ‘Gyotaku’ (Fish rubbing) as a traditional art form of Japanese fishermen which was originated to be started by samurai warrior in the Edo period, 19th century, and have been believed to have such the common discipline and spirituality of ‘Bushido’ (Samurai’s chivalry).
This is a beautiful ‘Gyotaku-e’ which is additionally painted for reproducing its original color. Sign of date as “73′ 2.13”.
Slight some wrinkles by pasting thin paper of original gyotaku with board paper as seen the photos.
