Kamiko – Japanese traveler’s paper raincoat (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Traveler’s ‘Kamiko’ (paper garment) coated with persimmon tannin, as an old unused possession of a haiku poet probably because of its owner’s name like a pen name in ‘tenkoku’ (seal-engraving) style of the back. Some rips at the edges for its folded condition. Meiji period, 19th century. approx. length 100cm (39.37in), sleeve to sleeve 130cm (51.18in), width 73cm (30.70in)
