Japanese Kinkarakawa leather pouch with frog metal fitting  (Dealer: misakadou) – ‘Kinkarakawa’ (lit. ‘Gold Chinese leather’) as decorated leather with patterns created by painting, relief or gold foil, which was introduced from Europe and arranged to remake for tobacco pouch or wallet. Meiji period, 19th century. Unique Japanized art crafts from the reuse (arrangement). Originally attached with lovely metal fitting of the retreating figure of frog, and additionally netsuke of Hotei god attached in the later years. Expected damages by actual use as seen.
