Antique Japanese Suisaka ware tea bowl (Dealer: minakata antiques) – Quite a strong and modern impression with such the division (aesthetics) of iron glaze. Well-matched with the green of matcha (powdered tea). With potter’s sign at foot. Late 19th – Early 20th century. approx. D 13.6cm (5.35in), H 5.1cm (2.00in) In fine condition with no fatal damage.

Although the name of ‘Suisaka’ itself is a place name in Ishikawa prefecture in Hokuriku region and originally defined it as its locality of this pottery ware, it turns out that Suisaka ware came from Hizen area in Kyushu region as just like Imari ware according to the later research.
