Antique Japanese Teiran bamboo sencha basket Edo period  (Dealer: hotoke antiques) – Sophisticated woven bamboo basket with a wooden lid, used for ‘nodate’ (open-air tea ceremony) as a Japanese sencha utensil called ‘teiran’, Edo period. Still remained lining of silk-paper of ‘takara-zukushi’ (traditional auspicious pattern with drawings of several lucky items) inside. In fine practical antique condition, with expected sign of use as seen. (crack at bottom, but no problem with its inside lining) approx. W 21 cm (8.26in), D 14 cm (5.51in), H 36 cm (14.17in)
