Pair of Japanese wood carving sentaibutsu Buddha statues (Dealer: tayutafu) – Two of ‘Sentaibutsu’ (lit. Thousand Buddhas) of a large number of Buddhist images dedicated to the temple. Edo period, 18-19th century. Very simple type carving only mouth for facial expression, with simplified halo made of wire, as impressive style. In fine antique condition as they are. (one is worm-eaten body though) Standable for display. approx. H w/o halo 11cm (4.33in), W 3cm (1.18in), T 1cm (0.39in)
