Zushi of Tile (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – ‘Zushi’ shrine altar for belief of the ordinary people, which is unusually made of tile as the same material of traditional Japanese roofing tile. Early Showa period, 20th century. Probably related with similar custom that tile talisman dolls (gods) made by tile craftsman are often displayed on the house roof in the western part of Japan. Such highlight of solid and profound feeling of texture as seen.
