KIHARA CHAWAN (Dealer: Jinta) – Excavated pottery tea bowl from Kihara kiln in Kyushu region, Japan, in such naturally accidental condition with potsherd stuck on by kiln-firing. Early Edo period (1624-1704). Kihara chawan was born during the transition time between the decline period of Karatsu tea ceremonial ware and the birth of Shoki-Imari ware. So that such its generous painting similar to Shoki-Imari’s is another highlight as well besides its miraculous natural form as is. approx. H 14cm (5.51in), 12 x 10cm (4.72 x 3.93in)
