HANAKAGO (Dealer: hotoke) – Sophisticated handled ‘hanakago’ (bamboo flower basket) of Suruga bamboo ware (Suruga Take Sensuji Zaiku – ref. https://kougeihin.jp/en/craft/0614/). Showa period, 20th century, Japan. approx. H 45cm (17.71in). Attached with an original bamboo ‘otoshi’ (inner cylinder for the use of flower arrangement) though damaged a little but usable as is. Personally, also highly recommended to appreciate its delicate natural light filtering through such flowing fine bamboos without otoshi or flowers.
