MOTHER AND CHILD

 

MOTHER AND CHILD (Dealer: hotoke) – Quite a rare old religious oil painting regarding “Christianity of Japan” so-called ‘Kirishitan’ (ref. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirishitan), with unknown Japanese painter’s sign as ‘Hirota, 1954’, attached with such solid and quality iconic wooden frame with glass plate (53 x 62 x 7 cm (20.86 x 24.40 x 2.75in)). Since tightly and completely driven nails, this painting itself and glass plate can’t be taken out from this frame. So, shooting diagonally to prevent the reflection by the surface glass as seen.
