HOJU-SHAPED CANDLESTAND (Dealer: titcoRet) – ‘Tomyodai’ triple iron candlestand in a hoju (Buddhist precious orb)-shaped design, formerly used for rituals in a temple, Japan, Shōwa period, 20th century. Approx. 28.5 cm (11.2 in) in height.
The wooden base shows age-related signs, including small wormholes that release wood dust. Some areas of the base are chipped, and a portion of the back of the iron body has been lightly painted black. Wear consistent with age, as shown.
