KAWAII-NOSED MANEKI CAT (Dealer: titcoRet) – A Japanese porcelain maneki neko (beckoning cat) with its left paw raised, traditionally associated with inviting good fortune, connections, and people. Taishō–Shōwa period (early–mid 20th century). Approx. 8 cm (3.1 in) in height. Compared with the more commonly seen small maneki neko, this example is slightly larger and has a plump, rounded form. The whiskers and mouth are painted noticeably lower than the nose, giving the face a somewhat absent-minded and especially charming expression. The painted decoration shows some wear, consistent with age. Condition as shown.
