Quite a rare and precious relic of primitive knitting machine with wooden board and stone spindles used for very unique and mysterious Japanese knitting from the Jomon period (c.14,000-300BCE) called ‘angin’, which was not only for working clothes or apron or bag as everyday use, but also for special clothes like Buddhist priest’s called ‘amii (amie)’ or horse costume called ‘magin’ in the middle time (12-16th century). Sooty used antique condition as is with deterioration as seen.
