WOLF HANGING SCROLL
WOLF HANGING SCROLL (Dealer: titcoRet) – An old Japanese hanging scroll incorporating a wolf talisman issued by Mitsumine Shrine, long associated with wolf worship and protection. The talisman dates to the late Edo to Meiji period and was mounted as a hanging scroll around that time. Overall approx. 86 × 27 cm (33.9 × 10.6 in); image area approx. 29 × 18.5 cm (11.4 × 7.3 in). Wolf talismans exist in various forms, but this example is particularly rare for its remarkably simple and unadorned depiction. Creases, folds, and age-related wear are present. Condition as shown.
