POETRY OF AUTUMN SHOWER (Dealer: hotoke) – Original calligraphy of ‘waka’ (traditional 31‐syllable Japanese poetry) titled ‘shigure’ (rain shower in late autumn) made and written by Kamono Suketame (also, Nashinoki Suketame / 1740-1801), a Shinto priest and noted poet in the mid-late Edo period, Japan. Aesthetically substantial blank in the poetry as is. Silk mounting with paper backing. In fine used antique condition with no fatal damage. Attached with signed wood box and cloth. approx. 111 x 59.5cm (43.70 x 23.42in)
