PALM WITH EYE (Dealer: titcoRet) – ‘Busshu’ (Buddha’s hand) of the wood carving statue of ‘Senju Sengen Kannon’ (Thousand-armed and thousand-eyed kannon), Edo period (1603-1868), Japan, approx. L 7cm (2.75in). Such small size busshu with carving eye is quite a rare and also its carving is so delicate as the work of skilful ‘busshi’ (master sculptor of Buddhist images). Lack of forefinger as is.
