HEAD OF AWA JORURI DOLL (Dealer: titcoRet) – Head of the large-size doll used for ‘Awa Ningyo Joruri’ (Traditional local Joruri puppet show in Tokushima region), Meiji-Taisho period, early 20th century, Japan.
Nice face with such luscious whiteness of ‘gofun’ (white pigment). Extensible neck. Some stains and aged deterioration as is. approx. 10.5 x 15 x 13.5cm (4.13 x 5.90 x 5.31in)
