Japanese black lacquer temple altar vase Edo 19c (Dealer: misakadou) – As it’s not a usual bronze-made altar vase for use of Buddhist temple, quite an unusual type of wooden altar vase coated with black lacquer. Moreover, this large size type is rare as well, as probably coming from a certain prestigious temple. Edo period, 19th century. approx. H 27.5-28.5cm (10.82-11.22in), W 36.5cm (14.37in), D 31.5cm (12.40in)
Within the allowably fine condition for considering its usage and its age, though some lacquer-peelings, surface scratches and repair. (*Please apply to use an inner container (‘otoshi’) for use of flower arrangement for preventing water leaking.)
