BORO BANDORI (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – ‘Bandori’ woven backpack cushion pad for carrying loads and for the celebration when carrying trousseau as its another usage, as a particular Japanese local mingei farmer’s tool in Tohoku region. This piece is uniquely made of many waste pieces of colorful ‘boro’ textile, coming from Akiu area in the deep mountains, Sendai prefecture, Early Showa period, early 20th century. In fine antique condition with expected aged deterioration as seen. approx. 95 x 41 x 5cm (37.40 x 16.14 x 1.96in)
