BORO FLOWER BASKET (Dealer: antiques.iwata) – Originally a Japanese worker’s waist pouch woven with scraps of various used Japanese indigo-dyed cotton kimono then applied to a hanging vase for flower arrangement by the connoisseur in the later years. 19th – early 20th century. H 24.5 x D 8 cm (9.64 x 3.14in). Attached with a plastic ‘otoshi’ (inner cylinder for the use of fresh flower arrangement). Slight fray at mouth but no fatal damage as is.
