BORO POUCH FOR WHETSTONE (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Quite an unusal and rare grindstone pouch woven with the strings made of waste pieces of torn boro textiles by primitive Japanese knitting technique called ‘Angin’ succeeded from the Jomon period (c.14,000-300BCE). Early Showa period, 20th century, Japan. Slight stain of iron rust as is. approx. L 21.5cm (8.46in), W 10cm (3.93in)
