REMAINS OF BUDDHIST TEMPLE’S MAKIE DECORATION (Dealer: misakadou) – Two pieces of temple’s wooden decoration with ‘makie’ gold-lacquered lotus flower, like small ‘ranma’ transoms (with unlacquered backside), which must be from quite a majestic temple because of such delicately thick and raised makie lacquerwork. Edo period, 19th century, Japan. In very fine antique condition for such age. approx. H 12.5cm (4.92in), W 40cm (15.74in), T 2.5cm (0.98in)
