BELOW THE WAIST (Dealer: titcoRet) – An unusual Japanese wooden ema plaque depicting the lower half of the body, offered in prayers for women’s health, fertility, and childbirth. Shōwa period (20th century). Approx. 14 × 14.3 × 0.3 cm (5.5 × 5.6 × 0.1 in). Many such plaques were exposed to the elements after dedication, often resulting in severe fading or loss of the image. This example remains in notably well-preserved condition. Age-related wear is present. Condition as shown.
