COZY AND SUBTLE SUTRA DESK (Dealer: titcoRet) – Japanese lacquered wooden ‘Kyozukue’ (lit, ‘Sutra Desk’) of simple and delicate make, Edo period, 19th century, approx. 46.8 x 16.5 x H 21.2cm (18.42 x 6.49 x 8.34in). Such refined and skilful lacquering by an artisan of the period as well. Appliable to display or flower stand besides. In aged condition as is, with expected cracks, lacquer-peelings, and worm holes.
