MODERN SHUNGA (Dealer: titcoRet) – A cool and charming accordion-style shunga booklet illustrating the traditional “48 positions” (shijūhatté)—a classification of erotic postures named during the Edo period—rendered here as minimalist line drawings. Japan, Shōwa period (20th century). Approx. 10.8 × 15.7 × 2.5 cm (4.3 × 6.2 × 1 in), extending to approx. 265.5 cm (104.5 in) when fully unfolded. Drawn on paraffin paper and mounted to double-sided accordion backing paper. Damage is present to the backing, though the paraffin sheets themselves remain intact. While traditionally known as 48 positions, this example contains 46 illustrations with one missing, leaving 45 remaining. Age-related wear is present. Condition as shown.
