KARATSU VASE (Dealer: misakadou) – Scarce Karatsu ware cylindrical vase with such wild taste made to order for use of tea ceremony by ‘chajin’ (connoisseur), Mid-Late Edo period, 19th century or earlier, Japan.
In my opinion, specifically it would be Takatori ware from Kyushu region as same provenance, though signed as ‘Madara-Karatsu’ at attached wood box (as such highly-evaluated original paulownia box stuck paper card with seal of an intellect). In aesthetically scenic antique condition as seen, though with some cracks, ‘kintsukuroi’ (gold-restoration) for damage, and lack of ears as is.

approx. H 25cm (9.84in), D 10cm (3.93in)
