ENMA WITH NO FACE (Dealer: titcoRet) – Old Japanese wood carving statue of ‘Enma’ (‘Yama’ in Hindu, The King of Hell, who judges the dead), Meiji period (1868-1912), approx. H 35.3cm (13.89in). Originally has characteristic angry face, but such lack of face uniquely give the neutral impression. Massive image with presence. Expected cracks and peels due to aging as is.
