EXCAVATED EWER (Dealer: Jinta) – Probably originally a pottery ewer for sacred ritual use in ancient Japan, then its form and style was applied to ‘suichu’ (water-dropper for replenishing inkstone water) in the later years. Kamakura period (1185-1333) or later. approx. H 16 x 12 x 11cm (6.29 x 4.72 x 4.33in). The photo#10&11 are the one supported with a stone at the foot for stability.
