FIVE BUDDHAS IN GOLD (Dealer: hotoke) – A pack of quality five gilt wooden Buddhist figurines with metal ring halo, originally from ‘Sentaibutsu’ (lit. ‘Thousand Buddhas’) as a large number of wood carving Buddhas dedicated to the temple, Edo period, 18-19th century, Japan. approx. H 9cm (3.54in) each. In aesthetically aged condition as is as seen. One Buddha (in photo#9) don’t stand by its own, so that apply the roughness of wooden texture for its stability. Attached with a paulownia wood box (in photo#2) as the refined arrangement by its former owner. (but not attached wooden base (though available as #08170))
