RUSTIC FUDO-MYOO STATUE (Dealer: titcoRet) – Rural wood carving ‘Fudo-Myoo’ (Acala (The God of Fire)) statue of ‘Minshubutsu’ (lit. ‘Folk Buddha’) carved by an amateur as non-professional Buddhist sculptor. Edo-Meiji period, 19th century, Japan. Large size and particular proportions with such profound presence. Lack of right hand, peeling of paint, and some aged deterioration. approx.
