FRAMED HONOKEN (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Dedicatory metal sword from blacksmith as usually called ‘honoken’ which stand for the sword of ‘Fudo Myoo’ (Acala, The God of Fire) as the protection against fire. This piece could be dedicated to a certain shrine for its quality make in my opinion. Taisho-Showa period, early 20th century, Japan. Frame: approx. 50 x 36.5cm (19.68 x 14.37in) / Sword: approx. 22.5cm (8.85in)
