GEGYO (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Wild decorative wooden board installed to the gables of shrine (or temple) roof called ‘Gegyo’ (lit. ‘Hanging fish’) which stands for “sprinkling water” as a traditional Japanese architectual charm of fire prevention. Edo period (1603-1868). In such aesthetically weathered and dried condition as is. approx. 43.5 x 37 x 3.8cm (17.12 x 14.56 x 1.49in)
