YAMAJAWAN 02 (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Primitive biscuit firing pottery bowl called ‘Yamajawan’ (Yama-Chawan / lit. Mountain tea bowl), Heian period, 11th century, Japan. Impressive natural landscape in calmy simple form, with ‘Kintsugi’ (Gold repair) at inner part, resinoid repair at lower body, and the signs of chaff at bottom rim used for layered-firing as its sticking prevention in kiln-firing. approx. D 160-166mm (6.29-6.53in), H 55mm (2.16in)
