Also illustrated are Inubako (dog-shaped protective boxes), wrapping methods, decorative cords, bags, and measurement diagrams related to childbirth and child-rearing customs of the imperial court and samurai families. Edo to Meiji period (19th – early 20th century). Approx. 24.3 × 17 × 0.5 cm (9.6 × 6.7 × 0.2 in). The text is written in old Japanese with elegant flowing script, making it difficult to decipher. 25 pages in total, including 8 illustrated pages. Insect damage is present, though no active powder is produced. Age-related wear is present. Condition as shown.
