BANDORI WITH INDIGO-DYED TEXTILE (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – ‘Bandori’ woven backpack cushion pad for carrying loads as a particular Japanese local mingei farmer’s tool in Tohoku region. This piece is uniquely covered with indigo-dyed textile, coming from Shonai area in Yamagata prefecture as its characteristic design. Meiji – Early Showa period, early 20th century. In fine antique condition with expected aged deterioration as seen. approx. 65 x 30cm (25.59 x 11.81in)
