INDIGO-DYED HEMP TSUNOBUKURO (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Long and narrow indigo dyed hemp bag, so-called ‘Tsunobukuro’ (lit. ‘Horn bag’), from Pacific side in Tohoku region, Japan. 19th – early 20th century. approx. 222 x 18cm (87.40 x 7.08in) Both sides open. Actual usage unknown. (Perhaps shoulder it like a shawl?) Some small holes, mendings, stains, as is.
