BORO FOR IRORI (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Indigo-dyed boro cotton textile rug with sashiko quilting cut out for ‘irori’ sunken hearth used actually in Aomori prefecture in far northern Japan. Early Showa period, 20th century.
