JAPANESE MATRIMONY PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Photographic record of a very ordinary rural Japanese woman who was a farmer and married to a man (in other words, to become husband’s family member forever) in the middle era of Showa period (1958). Dressed in traditional weddding costume called ‘Tsunokakushi’, taken the “last” commemorative photograph with her family, moved to shirine by car, then parade following the Shinto priest, and visited her old home (for the first time) with the baby after her marriage…, just like watching Ozu’s film as those are the same era in Japan. 84 attached photos, and 5 unattached photos. approx. 243 x 195mm (9.56 x 7.67in)
