LARGE FLASK OF JOSEON DYNASTY (Dealer: minakata antiques) – Unusually large Korean pottery flask used for milk, late Joseon Dynasty, 19th century, covered in such refined glaze combined with the ash gathered from its kiln applauded by the Japanese predecessors (tea masters or connoisseurs) for its taste and spirit (“wabi”), with some gold-repairs (kintsugi) and a silver-repair (gintsugi) at foot rim. No leak. Usable as a vase to put water into directly.
