KAKISHIBU-KIMONO (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Rare type of men’s hemp kimono in such single color with no patterns dyed with ‘kakishibu’ persimmon tannin as the forced kimono color of discriminated outsider castes or ‘shugenja’ mountain ascetics as historically. Early 20th century, Japan. In fine used condition as is, with two spots of mending for small holes at the back.
