WASHI BORO (Dealer: yamanome) – Tanned ‘washi’ (Japanese paper) with ‘kakishibu’ (persimmon tannin), used to be laid under tatami mat or pasted on the wall of ‘kura’ (warehouse) for humidity control and sunburn prevention, early 20th century, approx. 115 x 167cm (45.27 x 65.74in). Some mendings with patches like ‘boro’. Stained, worn, and holed as is.
