KO-KARATSU SAKE CUP (Dealer: hotoke) – Reborn sake vessel reassembled from fragmentary shards of Old Karatsu stoneware dating from the Momoyama period to the early Edo period (late 16th–early 17th century), joined using gin-tsugi (silver repair). Approx. diameter 6.5–7 cm (2.6–2.8 in), height 4.0–4.5 cm (1.6–1.8 in). Rough furimono (kiln grit) remains in the mikomi (interior well); it does not hinder use and instead becomes part of the vessel’s keshiki—the “good scenery” cherished in the appreciation of old Japanese ceramics. Continue pouring sake, and allow the cup to mature into a vessel shaped by your own use and affection.
