KASHIGATA, SLICE OF SEA BREAM (Dealer: Jinta) – Auspicious ‘kashigata’ (wooden mold for making traditional Japanese confectionery called ‘rakugan’ (rice-flour cake)) with very rare motif of “a slice of sea bream” which is originally one of the traditional Japanese dish eaten on celebrative occasions. Showa period, early 20th century. approx. 19 x 9cm (7.48 x 3.54in), T 3cm (1.18in). Attached with the paper clay samples as its trial works.
