KIBANA – Japanese wooden architrave (Dealer: hotoke antiques) – Object of ‘kibana’ (lit., ‘wood nose’) as the end of beam of Shinto/Buddhist architecture, but used as a sample or a trial piece made by ‘miya-daiku’ (shrine/temple carpenter) probably. Simple but various transformative forms from various angle views, with a minimal wave carving inspired from the style of Kamakura period (1185-1333). Quality aged wood. approx. L 40cm (15.74in)
