KIKYOKU (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – ‘kikyoku’ wooden cabinet for tea ceremony utensil with ‘kendon-buta’ drop-fit door, with unique graffiti of three kanji characters in india ink which stand for “Welcoming “hair of the dog”” (lit. ‘Welcome-Sake-Welcome’) on the backside of door. Meiji – Early Showa period, 20th century, Japan. approx. 57.5 x 21 x 29.6cm (22.63 x 8.26 x 11.65in)
