KIMONO OF TOKEIRAKU DANCE AND MUSIC (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Old cotton kimono in such vivid composition of ‘tsutsugaki’ picture with checkered pattern as the traditional costume of ‘tokeiraku’ (lit. ‘cockfighting music’) court dance and music parade of the people wearing hats adorned with bird feathers who sound gongs and bells and beat drums, which is the main parade in The Takayama Festival in Hida-Takayama region, Japan. Meiji-Taisho period, early 20th century. Some expected stains for actual use and repair at the neck part for wearing heavy gong or drum.
