KO-KARATSU KATAKUCHI (Dealer: misakadou) – Old Karatsu ware spouted bowl with such wild glazing makeup by brush-stroke technique called ‘hakeme’. Edo period, 18th century, Japan.
Mat and dry texture for its excavated condition from old kiln site, so that slightly earthy smells when wet, though in very fine antique condition in comparison with similar pieces in my experience.
approx. D 22-20cm (8.66-7.87in), H 11cm (4.33in)
