KOKUSHIKIJO (Dealer: hotoke) – Aged, subtle, and profound wood carving Noh mask of black Okina (old man) as a kami (god), called ‘Kokushikijo’, a.k.a. ‘Sanbaso’ as the third Okina mask in Sanbaso Play. Edo period, 18-19th century, Japan. Original condition as is, except wired in the later years. Signed at the backside, though faded. approx. 19 x 13cm (7.48 x 5.11in), D 6cm (2.36in)
