KATAKUCHI CHAWAN – Japanese Kyoto-Karatsu ware spouted tea bowl (Dealer: misakadou) – ‘katakuchi chawan’ (spouted tea bowl) of Karatsu-style Kyoto-made ware called ‘Kyogaratsu’ (Kyoto-Karatsu ware). Meiji-Taisho period in early 20th century. Intentionally aesthetic distorted form, with dynamic landscape of ‘kodai’ (foot part). In fine antique condition as is. Imperfectly stable when putting it on flat surface, but considered to be the attraction of itself and not its fault in the Japanese tea terms. approx. H 7.5cm (2.95in), W 14.5cm (5.70in), D 13cm (5.11in)
