MAGE-WAPPA – Japanese large lacquered bentwood container (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Rare large type of lacquered oval bentwood containers (mage-wappa) with family crest used as lunch box (bento-bako). Late Edo – Meiji period in 19th century. Refined mingei folk art craft attached with quality storage box as exceptionally, which tells it was used with great care at that time. In fine antique condition as seen. (but damaged at lower part of its storage box)
